Xi Rumors/Myths

Hey Everyone,

Yes, I am definiely a NOOOB.

I recently purchased a '08 E90 (Pre-LCI) and I'm looking into my mods bit, by bit. Now I have heard alot of rumors from different people and figured I ask the "Pros".

-My biggest concern has to be that if the car is lowered to a certain point you get a x-drive malfunction? How true is this?
-How low is low enough for looks and stance, but not enough to kill the front axles?
I'll figure out the actual setup later, but for now I'm curious about these...

Don't burn me with a because I have, but I'm still looking for something definitive and not random speculation.

THANKS!

I have a few customers using coilovers to eliminate wheel gap on their Xi's. They have not today experienced any issues with the system thanks to lowering the car. Now they are not "stanced" or "slammed" only lowered slightly to give the car a much more aggressive look. If I recall correctly most of them are around two to three inches lower than stock to give you an idea of how low you can safely go.

Garage List
Never heard of lowering having a negative effect on the X-Drive.

If you run wheel/tire combos that are more than 1% different outside diameter from factory diameters, it supposedly can ruin the X-Drive...
