35% tint on E92 BSM 335i
Before and after....just had tint installed today (35% Pinnacle F1). What a difference...looks better and a lot cooler (especially with black interior). And thanks to those who told me about LA Tint over in Sterling VA...They really do a great job over there...
Next up is orange reflector delete, 15mm spacers, and V1 drop! |

That was you at LA Tint? I work down the street from them.
Why did you choose the brand of tint? Was it recommended? Are you concerned about the tint laws in VA? or did they change? Nice job and good looking ride!

Virginia law is still 50% up front and 35% in the rear. You shouldn't have a problem with 35% all around though. |

I've used them and been happy w/ everything except the $329 price. Can you show the dot matrix area in the rear window so we can evaluate their work?

Looks great man. Definitely right about it saving the black interior. Or saving yourself from it, rather. Lol.

Thanks for the great comments! My first mod, hopefully a few more to come.
There was a lot of good info from others here on the forum about the need to use ceramic tint if you have the convenience package (metallic film interferes with the rf signal) and I had seen some nice pics with pinnacle F1. I also went with 35% all around because I wanted a more uniform look...but not too dark to avoid being pulled over by the Virginia police (however I also haven't put on the front license plate so perhaps I'm pushing my luck!) I will take a pic of the rear dot matrix area later today and post it so you can see that area as well. It still is in the process of drying out. I had them install the vinyl black strip after reading advice from others.... If there are any issues, the guy at LA Tint said to bring it back and they will fix it until I'm satisfied (which was nice to hear just in case the tint doesn't adhere on the first attempt). |

Here you go.... close up of rear window. Hard to get a good shot of what the vinyl band looks like at top given the black/black and 35% tint. Also, since I had the camera out...I couldn't resist taking a shot of my next project!

I ordered the side markers from JLevisw.com. The tint took about 3 hours to install (I think). I dropped the car off in the morning and picked it back up after work (so not exactly sure how long it took). Here's what it looks like now....with KW V1 drop, side marker delete, front/rear spacers, and cyba tips installed (sorry...the pics aren't the best) |

Do you live in NoVA? If so, I'd like to see your car in person, whether it's on personal time or if you attend any of the meets. I was thinking about getting 35% all around to stay legal with the medical waiver, but I didn't know if it'd be dark enough for me. Although they look pretty good in the pictures, I just wanted to see a 35% all around in person.
It might just be me, but with the last batch of pictures, they look darker? |

Tasteful mods, car looks awesome! Can I ask where you got your cyba tips installed and how much you paid? Looking to get the same done for me and looking for a good shop in NOVA

Thanks Boom! Thanks Eugeinus, I appreciate the feedback! The cyba tip were installed from a friend of mine up in MD. It took him longer than what he initially expected because he he had not installed Cyba tips before So I was the ginny pig). Clem doesn't have a welder at his shop but I've seen other postings on this forum who had them installed at local muffler shops for ~$75 or perhaps a little bit more. |
