Car ordered -- how often do ppl call BMWNA for production status?

I ordered my '07 e90 last week and is currently in production (as of 8/20)

Since the order has been put in, I've called BMWNA at least a half dozen times --- is it me, or are there others out there that are overly obessive as I am?

This is my first BMW, mind you.

Yeah, I was pretty OCD in tracking as well. The worst part is waiting for it to get across the ocean. My first Bimmer, as well

At one point, I could call the automated system, go through all the automated prompts, and get the latest status in about 50 seconds... :rocks:

i got my production number on tuesday and I have called about 10 times

Your dealer should have better knowledge. They have production inventory printouts daily.

+1 +1 and +1. I checked Owners Circle and the automated system at least once a day -- even on vacation -- until my dealer told me the car was on the boat. You will become VERY familiar with shipping schedules, Panama Canal webcams (for Left Coast-ers), and ship tracking via AIS. It's part of the fun and many of us have shared your experience. And it's worth it!

I didn't want to hassle my CA as I did AIS-tracking of my ship across the Atlantic -- I'm sure he has cars to sell

Mine went into production 8/20 ---- so according to your calculation I can expect it to arrive the week of 9/17, correct?

I've called a few times.. nothing to crazy since production hasn't started yet for the 08's.. but once it does.. i'm pretty sure i'll be calling a few times a week.

That's what the CA at the first dealership I went to said. Something to the tune of "they have the whole month of August off". I was a little sketchy of that comment...

BTW, Owner's Circle finally updated status --- delayed 4 days

Yeah, OC is always behind. The better bet is calling the 800 number, or hassling your CA. My CA was really good about calling me with updates, although I usually knew them as well (OCD, yanno?). He told me he likes the excitement of following a car's production status and keeping his customers up-to-date. :rocks:
