Exclamation Limp Mode!!!!

I went into limp mode yesterday and this morning on way to work. At first I thought that a hose came loose but then I turned car off/on. My car to me is driving fine. But for some reason I have to let the car warm up and drive it around before it goes into full boost. Would this be caused by o2 sensors not installed correctly?

Thanks ahead of time...

Sounds like either fueling issue or binding wastegates. There is no way to know without knowing the codes it threw.
That fact that you stated you have to let the car warm up in order to get full boost is sad. That's what you should be doing before going full boost anyway! Unless you like adding wear and tear to the car for no reason! Wow...

I mean the car is warmed up but i have to drive it around for like 10-15 min before it will. I let the car warm up 5-10 minutes in my garage.

Exactly! Some people have no respect for their car! Pay attention to your gauges guys. Before reaching 180 in oil temp, not coolant, pretend you don't have turbos. Better yet pretend you drive a diesel and as such, your car will be much happier long term.

Besides warming up the oil, There is obviously an issue if it goes into limp mode regardless of oil temps. OP read the codes to diagnose the problem. Without the codes, it the blind leading the blind

Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of where the o2 sensors go on downpipes? I think when i got mine installed they put them incorrectly.. Will the DP fix work or do I need to place them in correct placement.

It just looks so sarcastic, like, "You're an idiot, check your codes then come back and talk to us."

Those are cat inefficiency codes. Do you have the AUTO clear on or off?

I turned it off to get the codes but I had it on. Would having the sensors in the wrong place cause this?

Nope, the codes would be different. Did you get the big half engine light or the small yellow engine light?
Just delete the codes and make sure AUTO clear is on . Drive around and report back.

If you want to double check your O2 sensors, the grey sensors are for bank 2. You can get various sensor faults if they are mixed up. The faults set vary by how long you've been driving, current adaptations etc. hopefully auto clear is all you need.

Recently my car went into limp mode, took in to the dealer and they said my knock sensor was the problem for the limp mode. BMW has been having issues with it, and its a recall and is covered under CPO. They will update your software. This is what I was told. Wanted to share...... I will try to get more information when I go to pick up my car.
