On a somewhat related manner, where can we go for alignment outside of the dealerships? Would a regular tire shop be able to properly align our E90s?

i believe you have the answer to that
+ most maybe can agree to let the car settle for a couple or days or miles before you get an alignment done. the dealership would be the best call

well its still your call, but time constraint is your no. 1 enemy.
If you like a DIY, and do a cost benefit analysis and see if its all worthwhile. Im eager to see the final product, coz Im also tempted to complement my sway bars.

I had a good experience with the NTB store off Randolph Rd at Nebel (12241 Nebel St, Rockville, MD 20852, Phone: (301) 881-6134). I hit a pothole and needed an alignment in the worst way. Tischer could not take me for three weeks (!!), so I went to NTB, where I had a good experience with my wife's accord. Derrick, one of their alignment techs did a great job, better than Tischer did some months ago, in my opinion. Their machine did not have the 2007 alignment specs programmed in, but I checked with Tischer and was told that the specs were that same for the 325 and 328. Derrick's alignment also reduced tramlining substantially. The manager called this a specialty alignment (~$135), but when I checked out he gave me a three year alignment agreement for the same price--well below what a BMW dealership would charge. Rich |

I would let the car settle for at least a week of casual driving before doing an alignment. This will make sure that the springs compress and find their happy spot.
I had my Audi and Civic alignment done at Craven Goodyear in Fairfax, VA. Very good guys and good work. I think quiet a few e46 guys go there as well. I do not have their number handy. The suspension installation is not too difficult especially if you have a lift and power tools. I have installed coilovers in my Audi and Civic and it is not too bad. You definitely need some type of spring compressor and a impact wrench would be good. I have a cordless impact gun that is a life saver. I maybe able to offer some assitance but cannot guarantee. Busy with work and a 3 month old baby. Contact Pro Imports in Germantown, MD. I believe they do not charge too much for installing suspension. Good Luck.

Ill have to bookmark this thread...
Once the car is paid off, I think I might do the Koni FSD/Eibach kit... Ill definitely be doing the FSD's considering the amount of highway driving that I do (and the 'quick' bumps get old real quick on the highway). After looking at my car and how much it seems like its riding on stilts (even with ZSP suspension), I might do the eibach springs as well... Im going to have to wait until about January though before that one happens. But I might be springing for a dedicated winter tire setup as well, so this might be an expensive winter coming up... |

AJ, the Koni FSD/Eibach Pro-kit combo will go well with the 19" 230s you've been eyeing
I saw someone's account of this setup only on an E90 and 19" non-RFT and he claimed it was the most optimum setup in terms of ride/handling compromise. I hope to have everything done by next month's meet

Ahhh so that's $360 all in. Can't beat Sammy's price though, I'll check all the leads out when the time comes. I can't wait for the springs

Sammy is popular local mechanic, who did good and now owns 2 gas stations in my area. Very reputable amongst foreign car enthusiast around my neighborhood Currys wanted $450 to install a e90 sway bar, he did it for $230. BMW wants $110 to install a Dinan SSK, he did iy for $40. etc.
