How to work out whats needed for BT music
Good afternoon
I have a 335d m-sport which has an aux socket inside the centre arm rest, does have bluetooth for calls and an SOS button, professional Nav too but does not have any USB socket nor can I play bluetooth music. I guess I have parts of what is needed to add this feature but can anyone confirm what else I need and the steps involved? I have tried to search this but due to the combination of existing set up I am struggling to understand. Many thanks, |

Hi, provide the following:
What year is your car from? What parts have you got to retrofit? There are many paths for an upgrade, do you have a CIC or a CCC? Better still, post your VO.

The quick and cheap way is to hook up a aux to BT adapter and power it off the 12v socket. The other method? Apple air play. This is a killer install: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=971083
Now they do say that you won't notice the difference in quality with BT music due to road noise but I'm a stickler for quality and would pick wifi over BT music like the above install any day. |

the apple airplay can be used with android steaming and is much better audio quality than bluetooth through the same aux. probably the best option. loads of android app compatible with the airplay.

Thank you very much for the replies, I have learned that on one end of the £££ scale I could upgrade to the CIC system and then add a combox but I need to rebuild my savings after the car purchase so I have won an AirPlay box (Neet) on a popular auction website and will give that a go. I also ordered a twin USB to lighter adapter and will put it all in the armrest to test then maybe stow it a bit deeper in the center console if it works smoothly.
Lastly for now I am just hoping the lighter socket powers down with the car as I would not want to it cause battery drain by being left plugged in. |

hi all, hoping someone can help.
Recently picked up the Neet AirStream as seen linked above, I'm running a HTC One M9 (android) and was hoping to connect to my Spotify for in-car streaming... I can't seem to get it set up or communicating with my phone. Phone recognises the wifi network, I connect to it, but unable to transmit the music to the car, just, plays on the phone instead. After a quick google search I found BubbleUPnP app but still can't make it talk to my Spotify. I don't have any music on the phone itself unfortunately so was reliant on streaming services. Any help much appreciated. PS, I have been able to play locally stored files through the AirStream on my iPad but not on the phone |

Good afternoon, so I'm installed and able to AirPlay from my iPhone to the car but whilst connected it stops my data from working on the phone, for example Whatsapp, any suggestions how to fix this?

Can you not set how certain apps receive data, ie through wifi or a data connection? Does it automatically start playing music when you start the car or do you have to hit play on the phone?
