Michael,

I understand your initial concerns, i have the same... i have a Sparkling Graphite E91 and am doubting as well....but think i am gonna order them.

You have not to worry, i very honestly think they look best on your "black" car and second on the SG colour.
Your car looks better with them!!

Enjoy them!

they are cool though, at the very least, they are an improvement

I know it's not cool to quote oneself, but it looks like we all go through this with our blacklines.

When I see other E90's with the stock lights, I find I just can't stand how much red plastic there is at the back of the car. Blacklines really clean up the back end - especially on a dark colored car.

I agree that the black plastics seen through the lens isn't great. I also think that they leak a little white light when viewed from above (see pic). But the quality is the same as oem. Give it a week or two - you will find that they grow on you.

Another benefit is that it's a subtle little touch, that helps differentiate you as an enthusiast rather than one of the millions of people out there that bought the car for image alone.
Change the bulbs (clear) to red (no more leaking white light) and you'll be fine. I've also painted the whole blacklines to smoked color (a little darker) and they look a lot better especially with black car.

They look good bro - they look WWWWAAAAYYYY better than the stock lights. The stock tail lights are one of the worst features on the vehicle when you take delivery. Right behind the front bumper cover prior to an after market lip spoiler install.

I like the look of the black lines on my AW 335, but i would eventually like to see some true clear versions as they woudl look better on a lighter car. Hopefully someone will make a set at some point. If not, I may eventually follow the way of Longtran....

What exactly are blacklines? I see this term on a lot of posts, but I don't what it means.

tail lights that have white across the top half and red across the bottom. they have a black plastic underneath, this black is why they are called blackline...
