usb not supported??!!
hey guys so I just picked up my 2011 e92 lci with idrive im loving it no problems so far except when i connect my ipod touch or iphone through usb it says usb (not supported). I know its not the wire or the actual device i connected. so why is it giving me that?

would i just need a y cable?? and where can i find an official bmw y cable for a reasonable price

I have an extra factory BMW USB/iPhone Y cable. PM me if you are interested. I can ship it out today as it is just in my glovebox.

You need the y cable, using the apple cable plugged into the USB port gives the not supported error.

I don't know if you ever got it resolved, but you don't need a Y-cable with the newer systems. Mine's a 2011 e90, and iphones/ipods work fine with just the usb cable. I would probably try using a different cable.
