Which would you choose?

My brother needs to get rid of his e46 325ci and get a new car. As much as he loves the 5er, the quote on a lease is too expensive for him. He is definately a bimmer guy but isn't so into the e90. He loves the e92 but he needs a sedan. He found a great lease price on the Mercedes c 350 and the e 350. The c class is sharp but he thinks it may be to young for him. The e class isn 't visually stunning to say the least but it is a solid luxury sedan. Any opinions?

at the risk of getting crucified on this forum, I must say I find the E-Class a lot prettier and classier than the 5-series, but the lease is probably at least as expensive, if not more

maybe he would be a candidate for the X6 (actually very nice in person)

X6 is WAY more then a 5er as far as leases??

why not go for a G35 or even an M35 sedan, they are nice comprimise for someone who likes the drive of a BMW. (i had a e46 325Ci then went G35 coupe, but had to come back to the fatherland with my e92)

My opinion is that if it's his car, let him buy whatever he wants. The last thing you want is to try to convert him and end up with resentment if he was to end up buying something he didn't want in the first place.

i've heard a lot of anecdotes about build quality issues with mercedes C and E class, and that is supported by the high premiums charged by insurance companies to write mechanical breakdown coverage for mercedes cars

personally, build quality and (in my opinion) dull driving dynamics make me stay away from mercedes

I think the Lexus IS are solid (nice interiors, super reliable) and the Infiniti G35 and M35 sedans are great as well. I crossed shopped both the G35 and IS250 when I was looking for my E90 328, and would probably have gone japanese if i didn't attend DEs
