Chasing Valvetronic issue 330i
Last year I replaced my valvetronic motor with a brand new genuine part. I have a 2006 330i with 223,000 mind you. I didnt do the relearn process and just put it back in. After that it drove normally for 7 months and then symptoms of bad vvt came back. Pressing the gas pedal all the way down the car wouldnt go over 2000 rpm. My pedal felt dead. Reduced power even ON THE FREEWAY. I would have to pull to shoulder and everytime I turned the car off and back on, it would be fine and all is good. Somedays it wouldnt even do any symptoms and drive happily but I would always know if it would mess up because it wouldnt rev as happy. Last night I got a allen key and turned it clockwise till I felt tension. I turned the car on in the 2 position and off without turning on the motor. I read this on e90post and it said it would initialize the limits of the valvetronic motor. I heard a rapid clicking twice and drove it. It felt good. But today I felt low power on the freeway but after a while the symptoms died down. Does it still need to be relearned and did I mess up anything driving the car like this for like 4 months? Some drives it would be fine and some drives it would be low on power than i would have to stop on the side of the road and turn it off and on. Any input would be appreciated.
