Unknown warning sign?!
So I was driving home yesterday when all of a sudden a warning symbol shows up on my dash... I've never seen it before nor have I found it in other threads. It looked like our stick shift sign we have on our knob with an R for the reverse but no numbers for the gears. Does anyone know what this means? If you haven't already guessed I have a MT.

When this happen were you trying to remove the remote key from the dash or did you accidently press the ignition "On/Off" button on the dash ????
Maybe the car was in gear and it sensed that the ignition was trying to be turned off. All speculation..................hope it helps. |

hey! you were probably in 4th gear or higher and so happen to slow down(~below 30mph) without putting it in a lower gear. its telling you to down shift because you are getting ready to lug the motor...when my car is on cruise control and when i'm approaching a red light i'll push the brakes at times forgetting to also switch gears. doesn't happen all the times, just briefly and every time its because i was in 5th or 6th from cruise coming to a stop.
teri ps...if i remember correctly you'll see an arrow pointing telling you to downshift :-)
