Tint ticket VC 26708 (a)(1)

Tint ticket VC 26708 (a)(1)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a front windows tint ticket on the 405 South around Long Beach area. The violation code is 26708(a)(1). I assumed it was a fix it ticket but when I looked at the ticket again, the "Correctable Violation" box is checked NO. Is this a moving violation worth 1 point or is it a fix it ticket? Is there a way for me to just pay the fines and keep my tint? How much is this ticket going to cost? Such bad luck today, I just got my windows tinted yesterday. Thank you for helpful replies.

It's not a moving violation. You can either take off the tint and pay the $20 fine or whatever it is. Or you can keep the tint on and pay the bigger fine stated on your ticket. Should be around $130-200.

i think it all depends on how dark your tint is and how good your eyes are.

i have 35% tint on my front two windows (windshield is untouched) and majority of the time i do not have any issues.

Hey i just went through something like this with an exgirlfriend last week.
She got what we thought was a fix-it ticket in huntington beach for blackedout tail lights.
Well when we swapped out her tail light for some stocks and took it to a police officer to have him sign off the ticket as corrected, we noticed that this ticket was also marked no under correctable violation.
Well a week later she got a paper in the mail saying she needed to pay something like $129.
I thought this was ridiculous since it was a correctable violation and we corrected it!
So Wednesday morning we went to court and spoke with the clerk.
She said that we needed to pay the $129. I explain how ridiculous this was and asked to talked to the judge.
90 minutes later, standing in front of the judge:
He asked: Did you get this tail lights correct?
Her: yes
Him: How?
Her: I replaced them with new stock tail lights.
Him: Do you have $10 today?
Her: I tried to get it signed off but i was told it wasn't a fixit ticket.
Him: Do you have $10 today?
Her: Yes. But...
Him: Go pay the cashier clerk!

So we went to the cashier and paid the $10 and that was it.
Didn't even have to get the ticket signed off or have to show proof of correction.
Truly couldn't have worked out easier.

xPaulBaiLeyx thanks for sharing the story. I hope you'll finally get those blacklines that you've been hunting for for a while in a classifieds section.
It's $10 for fix-it ticket. I had 20% on my front windows, I had to take them off, so no there are no tints and the car doesn't look as pretty, but I'm calm when I see cops now. OMG I even have my front license plate on.

+1 I have either 30 or 35% all around, except the windshield, and I'm totally fine.

if its a correctable violation, just take it to your local police station, they will write it off with a fee of 10-15 USD, i forgot, i got two violations for windows so i couldnt write it off the second time

how carefully do they inspect your car when u get a fix it ticket?

like, if my car has tint and no front plate, can i put my plates on a friend's car (same color and model) that doesn't have tints and get the cop to sign off on that? that should be okay if they don't check vin #.

does ticket contain vin # information?
how about model and color?

does anybody know if you chose to pay the 100+ dollars and not get the tint removed if it counts as a point on your record?
