m-sport worth the money?

So I have ordered a 335xi, but I am not sure of the m-sport package. I dont like the wheels, and I feel thats 70% of what you are paying for. I do like the steering wheel and the aero package... thats about it. Thoughts on what you would do today if you were ordering a new Xi. Thanks!

In Canada for example, If you were to buy all the parts of m-sport after the purchase of your car, everything would cost $10k or more. While the package price is $3.9k. For the body and interior, package is worth it and you can always swap the rims for something else. I believe you are talking about 225M's which everybody has problems with over UK?

Thanks for the insight. It is actually a US spec car as I am moving back to the US. The wheels are the 193M's. I just cant embrace them like so many other wheels not to mention that it comes with high performance tires, so I cant even use them as my wintertime tires. As for the $10k bit, I think the only things I would want to replicate are the nose, the steering wheel, and the Lemans blue color. I dont care about PDC, or the door sills, or the shift knob... and again I hate the wheels. I am struggling here.

If I were you I would just get the package and sell the 193's with their tires(or without the tires depending on what they are). I'm sure you will find a lot of interest in those by other members, even I wanted to get those too at some point. You would even make profit If you order the package and sell the rims for something else.

hey I am thinking trade up for a 328xi coupe + the M-package.
if you say the total cost of the M-package is $10K if buy separately
where as I can buy @ 3.9K with the new car.

do you think someone is interested in swapping all my M-package items for the stock one and pay me extra $ ...? say $3000

does it make sense?

Yeah of course, but why would u wanna do that? It would be $10k from the dealer though, I dont know how much people pay to buy from other users, but you should definitely get alot. The rims from bmw would cost $4000-5000. I'm not sure exactly how much the full exterior kit costs but I'm guessing more than $3000 painted. Interior stuff with the steering wheel and installation should find that price around $10k.

what do you mean by $10K from the dealer?
The M package is an optional $3900 extra if you are buying a new car, they will give you the items.
unless we are talking about 2 different things here.
Can someone tell us what a factory M package should have in Canada?

What I am saying is:
if someone really want the M package upgrade, it will cost him $10K
here it is, I will swap with you for your stock ones, take them from my car only if you have the same color exterior and you pay me $7000

I only pay $3900 + taxes, am I ahead of the game by making at least $2500?

Is there a high demand with this M package accessories?
will someone willing to pay $7000?
I guess most of us are leasing and don't want to spend that kind of money

Without a doubt its worth it. I sold my Msport wheels for $1700 and the exterior of the car looks so much better.

I think my post was a bit confusing. If you want the full m-tech conversion you would have to pay around that much $10k (To the dealer, or other suppliers, Paint job, installation) but that doesnt necessarily mean that you can sell those parts for as much money. For example as Alan stated, the rims/tires he sold are worth $4000-5000 from the dealership but he sold them for $1700.

Honestly, I dont know if anybody would be willing to pay around that much. But you would definitely get more than what you pay for it, if you find a good market. There is a demand for it since this option was not available couple months ago.

M package in Canada includes:

M Sport Package, Sport Seats (includes electrically adjustable seat width), High-Gloss Shadow Line, Anthracite Roof Liner, Aluminum Glacier Silver Trim, M Sport Steering Wheel, M Aerodynamic Package, 18" M Star Spoke Alloy Wheels - Style 193M. (Includes High Speed Maximum)

Basically, (for xi) it is the existing sport package + Silver trim, M sport steering wheel, M Aerodynamic Package, and 193M's. So those are the parts you could sell. Logically you would be able to earn money from this but people on this forum dont like paying whats worth, therefore you really need to find the buyers.

Well, the steering wheel and the color aren't that different from what you get without the package, but maybe that difference is important to you?

You can get the nose (and tail) by itself - price that out. People have beend doing that on e90's since the car came out. It ain't cheap though.

You could sell the tires/wheels for $1000 easy. Maybe $1500 if lucky.
