New brakes, same CBS mileage estimate?

Just had new front pads/rotors/sensors put on at the dealer. They were replaced before the sensor tripped because the previous set developed runout. So the light wasn't on yet. Today, when flipping through the service stalk thing I notice the estimate for front pad life is 13,000, right around the same it was before I had the brakes changed. Is there something I can do on my own to simply reset this and tell it I have new brakes with full life on them? Or am I in for another trip to the dealer?

Go to the DIY section and look up the CBS reset, its pretty easy to do through the BC stalk.

You need a new sensor. The sensor estimates pad life by how worn the sensor is. If you put new pads on, the sensor doesn't magically grow back.

And if you reset the brakes in the CBS when the sensor is worn by any amount, it will give you ------- miles remaning and a red brake warning light.

You can also just keep the current sensors on, but they just won't count down any further until they touch the rotor again.

I have a new sensor. That's the thing.
