What Code Reader do you use?
Hello all,
I have a Peake tool that I've used on my 01' Z3 M Roadster and E39 M5 but It doesn't work on my recently purchased 2011 335is with the N54 engine. I need to get another one but am wandering which one works best for a reasonable price. Any ideas? Thanks, Dennis |

Thanks guys,
I looked on the Bavarian Technic website and their support matrix only goes up to 2009 http://www.bavariantechnic.com/model...atrix.aspx#e90 I assume they just need to update the matrix. Do you guys use yours on the later models? Also, a big price difference between their Enthusiast kit $287 for up to three cars and the pro kit at $735 for unlimited cars. I have three cars in my garage I could conceivably use it on, so if I wanted to help a friend I couldn't. I wonder if I could "upgrade" in the future if I run out of "licenses". |

+1, coding with a 25$ dollar cable, a 5$ adapter to plug into my phone and BMWhat $50 playstore (Android). BMWhat is awesome, its able to code a whole bunch of options easily, register batteries, clear and read codes, display vehicle parameters in real time. I recommend highly.

For those of you using BMWhat, does it only code a subset of what you could code using NCSExpert? For example I don't see an option to disable the i-drive Nav warning screen at start-up.
I read the description of BMWhat, and it does quite a few options, but it seems like not as many as have been reported by other users using NCSExpert. |

$25 ELM327 WIFI tool and $9 OBDFusion App on my ipad and iphone 6, good enough to read and clear codes...all i need it for really, has worked well even though it is not BMW specific, has diagnosed Audis and BMWs for simple issues such as coils.

I use the ELM327 and connect with my phone running Torque. The app is fantastic for monitoring engine parameters and checking/clearing OBDII codes.

Does anyone use an iOS device to do this? I thought I read that iOS devices are more finicky (surprise) with what connects to it and how so bluetooth readers don't quite work as well, or at all.

I use INPA and a K+DCAN cable. My cable was defective, so I needed to get a new one It gives you the highest level of control over the car, but because it is internal BMW software designed for only a select few group of people to use, it's very clunky and difficult to set up.

+1 except I use the bluetooth adapter the app developer sells on his website since the ELM327 seems to be a hit or miss for a lot of people. I also use the Torque Pro app as backup. I'm on Android BTW.
