The coding is about 250-300$, but the unit for $140 is a good deal!

The PDF said it needs at least progman version 31.2.0 to activate the alarm. If that's the case, most stock pre-09 doesn't have that version and need to upgrade.

I think the "activation" will only give you the sound when you turn it on/off and the option in the menu. I finished the install and tested the system (locked the car using the key from inside and opened the door and alarm went off). I'll see if they would "activate" it for cheap, else this is enough for my needs.
