Arrow 2011 bmw 335i convertible offer?

sooo i took a stop on my break to see the deals for the new 335i and if its fits my budget to trade in my old one. They went out and took an appraisal for my car to see its trade in value. while i was waitin for their response on the value i was goin over the new 2011 335i convertible . So they told me with a msrp of $61500 with no down payment will put me at $736 a month lease and all i have to bring is 4100 for tax and deposit. but the problem was that i still have 24000 left on my car and was hoping they can take the car back and even it out. Later on they called me to tell me my trade in value .........$14,000 -__- r u serious? however the sale rep told me that i can get bmw select and theyll take the car back however ill have to pay a total of 5000 at signing and my payment will be 799 a month? What do you guys think I should do? is it a good deal? or can it get better?

I think paying almost $800 a month for a 3 series is ridiculous.

14,000 is also pretty ridiculous for a 335i... I bet the dealer is going to price it at $30K

they are playing with you

how many miles on your car 08?

14K is pathetic and I think the sales person knows you were just looking for fun. Dealers will often give you a low trade in value to just make you leave especially if you have negative equity in your car...

I know because a few of my friends who are in car sales are directed by their managers to just get rid of tire kicker shoppers because they waste valuable time that could be spent selling to a real buyer.
just the truth.

what I learnt about trading in is that never do it. I traded in my 03MCS for my 135i and ended up getting the MCS back and just kept both of them. 14k is slap in the face IMO.

They never consider mods, if anything they might appraise less because of mods. This is because you actually limit the buyer when you mod your car.

The mods definitely make it worth less money, put it back to stock makes it a much more valuable trade - with the mods they can't CPO it and would have a hard time selling it, so will wholesale it and get less for it - 14k is still an insult. Stock with no major options on it, that car is worth 20k on a trade and not a penny left if it is in good condition.

The car you are looking at you should be able to get for a grand over invoice or less, putting it at about 58k, lease before taxes should be in the 700 even or a bit less range for 15k and probably 3-4k at signing for security first month payment etc.

Your problem is even with good trade in value, you are upside down in your loan, smart decision is to keep driving it until you are not upside down in another 12 months, but it is off warranty, so if you don't want to take any chances on it, you have to spend 3 grand for a warranty at which point you are only out a grand if you looking at spending money on extended warranty.

800 a month may seem like big money for a 3 series, but this vert is a 60k car, not a 40k stripped coupe, so when you can get a coupe for 500 a month, you can get a vert into M3 territory!
