WTB 17" Rims

Hey guys I'm just after some cheap rims (gutter rashed is fine along with flogged tyres but no cracks in the rims or buckles)

I would prefer 17's over 18's, but I may buy some 18's..

Let me know if you have a set to dispose of for <$500!

Cheers

*No longer wanted, I found some almost new 17" 335i m sport rims*

You'd probably want some light weight wheels if you're putting drag tyres on them. You should be able to get a pair of Apex's in 17" for $600ish?

Hmm I do agree, albeit I don't believe a set of $600 rims vs a pair of $200 heavier oem rims would make a huge difference? I can get a pair of drag radials and a cheap set of rims for ~ $600, but with apex rims and radials its ~ $1k..

Sure they would be nice to have, and I understand the benefits associated with light weight wheels (quicker turn in, more feedback through the tiller, improved braking) but these attributes IMO are more suited for the circuit then the strip?

Yeah, not a huge difference at the drags... but a difference nonetheless.

There's a few 17" oem sets on gumtree/ebay for $300ish. There's a set of 17" e36 m3 wheels on ebay which finishes auction in 2 mins lol ($550 though)

edit: no bids.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-B...#ht_759wt_1167 offer him $400

Hmm may have to suss out gumtree

Unfortunately those m3 rims are only 7.5" wide, to mount a 275 tyre (they dont come in 265 or 255) I would need a 9" rim minimum (well that's what nitto state for their drag radial) which I believe the oem 17" 335i E90/E91 rear rims are 9" wide.

If I go for an 18" rim, nitto have a 285/30 which is kinda pushing it imo otherwise I can look at what sizes the BFG drag radials come in...

I don't have to run drag radials I just thought when I can get a pair landed for around $450 through a few contacts, that's the price for a pair of cheap federal tyres here pretty much...

You can use this site to find out which OEM wheels are 17x9": http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

Just did a quick search and couldn't find 17" 335i e90/e91 wheels in 9" wide. I think they're 8.5.. which I'm sure you're able to get away with for the Nitto radials.

Thanks for that Link dude thats awesome!

Hmm some old skool M sport 5 series E39 rims would be perfect...

Ahh yes you're probably correct, that would make sense the 17" 335i rims being 8.5" and yes the nitto 275's should be shoved on ok on a 8.5".

Haha yeah it's a fun site to waste time on. Just be careful about the offset. Those are +18 to +22... with 275 radials you'd be hitting the guards I reckon.

I think these are what you want (not the 320i version though... unless they are 8.5" too?) http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/regen...700/1014525376

Hmm yes they certainly would be a squeeze, just trying to recall what my current rim specs are....

Those are the rims I had in mind that I had seen on a few E90/E91 335i!

These rims would have been perfect, but at the time I already had 3 sets of rims and 4 tyres in my garage:

He couldn't find a buyer so he gave them to his local tyre shop to clear space in his basement

you were only one week too late too.. they got given to Tempe tyres.. so maybe you can ask them to sell it to you for a good price seeing that they didn't pay anything for it
