New BMW Official Spare Tire Kit for e90 (335i included) - P/N 36112159860

I don't know how "new" this is, the dealer said it is new, I figured you may need information about it. Unfortunately, it does not appear in the Tischer database.

In my country it costs $500 so it should be about $375 in the US
I'm still debating whether to get it or not...I will probably get the rim from the dealer and the rest of the kit parts from somewhere else.

Nice...... they stole my idea for the tie-down strap.

I found this kit on one of the part catalogs online a few months back but it was not availible to order. I figured it was a Europe only set or something.

That's been posted before a couple of times. I'd be really surprised if it's orderable in the US -- but it would be nice! Note, Bavarian Auto offers nearly the same kit, except it's a steel wheel and doesn't come with the cover. Tire and tools are the same.

It doesn't take up as much space as you might think in the trunk, as the wheel/tire is only 4" thick. The tools can go in the recess under the trunk floor, there is a spot designed specifically for them.

The problem is, the steel wheel needs an adapter to clear the 335i brakes (as far as I know).

Cooper BMW in Oklahoma city told me today this is a European order only and American dealers can't get this part number. The number is correct just not avalible for order.

Not if you get the correct wheel. The one Bavarian sells is correct and fits fine with no spacer. I believe Tischer sells the right one, as well.

Others sell a kit from a 5-series that may or may not fit, depending on who you listen to.

Why are North American dealers so resistant to making an extremely logical and helpful accessory available? Australian dealers also provide a spare tire kit. Are the dealers just trying to be spiteful and make life more difficult?

Its not the dealers but BMW NA that likes to be the "Big Brother" and limit what is or is not available.

You may try obtaining it through RoverActive. They are specialized in importing BMW euro-stuff to USA.

Looks like it takes too much space on the trunk. it would have been nice if there is a room to put it underneath the trunk cover.
