Water pump at 116k miles. During the trip home I learned: Tow truck gets 7-9 mpg, they have tow conventions with seminars on how to tow different makes, closest Bentley dealer is in Maryland (towed one nobody else would touch), my tow hook is located back by the battery compartment. Was such a lovely day too lol.

No brakes after I installed 135 brembos and BMW P rotors. Let way to much air in the system.

Ooo guess I'll join. I've had the car for a little over 2 weeks now. Three days after I bought the car my car goes limp. Didn't know it at the time but one of my fuel injection transistors was out in the DME. A post on here (iirc) saved my ass a ton of money. Anyways, here she is. I'm in love.

And so the love-hate relationship with my car continues. I think this is my third time posting on this thread. Not exactly sure what happened this time.

For once it was MY car that was rattling, haha. It was the panel under the car that came loose and I couldn't get under it by myself, much to my frustration. It's all fixed now luckily!

Belly pan?

I'm pretty sure that if I took mine apart I would find about a dozen miscellaneous nuts and bolts from taking my burger intakes on and off over the years

Don't have a pic and not a BMW but a good story. My 66 SS396 Chevelle was parked in my apt lot. Car was on lease but it was a snowy NE winter and didn't move it. I tried once but it was frozen to the ground. I get home from work and its GONE!!!! Other tenants who love it come up to me and tell me its been towed. I call cops, they call tow company who then calls me to inform me the apt had it towed. Ironically that same day I got the new parking sticker for it. I go down to the office(not in the bldg) and talk with management. After some loud conversation and repeated tapping on my lease(where the car was listed), the guy admits he thought it belonged to some other tenant. It was returned uninjured and for free.

The belly pan is up front right? Mine was in the middle- the under tray?

Ahhhh, ok. Yep the belly pan is up front.

What a pain in the ass. If it makes you feel any better Tara, I just got the shock of my life last week.

I had the car at the dealer to swap out my winter tires off my 18 inch rims for summers.

Two days later, I get a voicemail from my service advisor asking me to call him right away, and that the pricing is "not good"

As it turns out I managed to hit something and destroyed my shock, strut and some other parts, which of course are "consumables" and not covered under warranty.

2400$, but he'll work the price, so I shouldn't worry.

FML.

$2400

I recently destroyed my front passenger strut, its leaking fluid and leaving spots all on my pavers. Gonna cost about $500 in parts and I'm sure my body will hate me afterwards.

Damn. Maybe you got some bad ju-ju after starting this thread. Interesting read though. Time to go preemptively replace my water pump...

Haha, yeah
Yes, this thread is a good reminder to buy your water pump cheaper online in advance and also get AAA for towing.

I forgot to take a pic of mine back in 03/15 when my water pump went out. Good thing my insurance includes Roadside Assistance.

First mistake you made is going to a dealer to have winters swapped!

Obviously this happened a while ago but I'm sure they scammed the shit out of you. Had a similar incident with my ex girlfriends 328, dealer was doing a tire rotation after oil change, which turned into "you need 4 new tires", which then turned into 2 of your shocks are shot and you should do all 4, then some bs on bushings and stuff. All on a car with a little over 50k on the dial and out of warranty of course. Total bs. When I called them and started calling out their bullshit, I said I want to see blown shocks and bushings before I approve the work and I wanted to see the tires that needed replacement. Mysteriously a day later they changed their story saying there wasn't an issue. Upon inspection, tires were fine too. Un-fucking believable. Stay away from Princeton Bmw. And always ask to see parts taken off your car at these stealerships.

If anyone wants to see how a lowered car is towed, I recorded it. Make sure you ask for a flat deck tow truck when you call for a tow!

Sadly yet another addition to this thread! Water pump (of course) went out at 85k almost on the mark this Tuesday. I got a friend to pick me up before the tow truck actually arrived as the next available one was on another job and wouldn't get there for another 2 hours.
