It has been discussed many times in the forums that the Eibach and H&R "i" specific springs work with "xi" cars.
No one really knows what the differences are, but it has been proven the front rake has been decreased a bit by using the "i" specific springs. |

True, but thats not what I asked I want to know if there is a difference between using 335i Eibach springs rather than 328i Eibach springs on a 328xi because of the weight difference..

Rather than the look, I want to know if there is a difference between ride quality, bouncing, etc.. the look would probably be the same

i got h&r springs for my 325xi and my wheels are 19inch 25/235front and 275/30 in the rear. the ride is not that bad until i go over bridge gaps then my
car bounces like a basketball. the other day i went over a bridge gap and my friend in the back (who didnt have his seatbelt) smacked his head on the ceiling. other than big sudden gaps/slumps in the road i find the springs actually handle cracks in the road and tiny bumps better than stock. i am slowly looking for shocks to match my lowering springs because i am getting fed up of the bouncing in those certain situations. i believe the springs drop 1.3 front and 1.2 back. -phil |

other then the ride quality, is it really that bad to have the lowering springs with stock struts? how much shorter will the life span of the struts go. (assuming i'm getting the h&r for xi).
i would definately like to get coils but like many said, i can't really justify the price of it right now and this is my dd, no need for top of the line suspension. |

Keep in mind I live in Montreal which probably has the worst roads in the world, so I hit lots of bumps which equals to a lot of bounce. If you live somewhere hot with nice roads like Florida etc and don't track your car, springs on stock shocks are the way to go.
As for stock shocks wearing more rapidly with lowering springs...I would'nt worry too much about that. I have a handful of friends who have put lowering springs on stock shocks on both new and old cars and none within the life of their car have noticed their shocks deteriorate. There probably is a tiny bit more of a percentage of wear on the shocks but nothing noticable. |

just installed the Eibachs...whooo...ride is a bit more rough..and the potholes and bumps are more pronounced..handling is waaay better than before. but the car shakes hard when hitting a bump (18" RFT prolly contributing to it too)... the car looks sexy now...no more gap...it should of came from the factory at this height...

installed it at my local shop in brooklyn they are the "i" springs..Eibach doesnt have "X" springs here in the US.....the ride...its borderline pretty harsh in NYC...those huge bumps on the highways...be prepared for a loud SMACK when you go over them..be prepared for a lot of loud SMACKS when you hit undulating dips and bumps......i can't get rid of the RFTs cause i have the tire/wheel insurance....pics will be up later...but it looks the same as everyone else's car...the positives are the car looks much much better, and the handling is slightly tighter too...less floatyboat. I wouldnt go any lower than the eibachs...dunno how the people who have H&R sport springs handle NYC streets...
