Question Engine Temp

I am a new owner of a 08 328i with the sport package. Where can I find the engine temp? My owners manual show the instrument cluster with the tach and the temp guage below it. Mine has the mpg in it's place. I went through the different functions on the control lever where the oil, tire pressure, brakes and so on but couldn't fine the oil temp. Where am i missing it. Help?

It seems the oil temperature gauge is a combined temperature of the oil & water ............ which makes no sense to me no matter how many drinks I may have.

IIRC when it comes to the 328, BMW only added a temp gauge to the cluster on coupes. I suppose BMW thought it would be a good addition to the "sporty" character of a coupe.
