exterior window chrome trim replaced?

has anyone had theres replaced through bmw warranty?? mine is dull and not shiny looking anymore, but they turned me down stating that its due to weather conditions and what not. therefore theyre not covering it.

Mine was replaced under warranty....I think it was around the 35k mile mark that I got them replaced.

if all else fails do what i did, hit them up with some metal polish, i used blue magic metal polish from wally world. cleaned them up nice, they arent a mirror finish or anything but they shine again.
