I'm installing the same kit from bimmer retrofit, and it all worked right out of the box.

The problem I'm having is that the PnP harness on the back of the new CIC is quite large, and I can't seem to get the unit to fully reseat. The closest I've managed is about 1/2" away from being fully seated. Was there any technique you used to get it back in? I don't want to just shove on it, and break something back there.

Thanks, and congrats on your install!

There is a path either from the left or right of the screen compartment where you can thread the cable.. Play around that, you will figure it out for sure.. :-)
It took me a little while as well.. :-)

I actually have the same problem with the hardware activation module -- I can't find anywhere to put it that does not prevent re-inserting the CIC into the dashboard (2007 e90 sedan.)

There is space on either side of the plastic frame in back that looks like it would be plenty of room for the old connector & activation module, but the plastic frame (guiderails for the CIC) does not have enough space around it to fit the large connector through into that space.

It looks like I have two choices: forget hardware activation & pay $1000 more for FSC codes, or cut away some of the plastic frame at the back of the bay the CIC inserts into in order to make room to pass the connector through. I'm reluctant to do that since it's an irreversible modification -- but on the other hand, it's deep inside the dashboard so it's not exactly visible.

Anyone manage to get around this problem in some other way?

I'm doing the same retrofit on my 2007 335i sedan and want to replace the center console trim with the correct one for the new iDrive controller. Does anyone have the part number for the burl walnut trim piece that will fit my '07?

Hi Estoril67:

Nice upgrade!
Hope you can code your language back soon. I like your Oyster White leather.

Does your car originally come with logic7 sound?

Thx
