Dehumidifier any suggestions
Being that time of the year its once again up on discussion in the household
We definetly need one as you can see it by the windows every morning. The house is very well insulated and all new windows and doors with A+ etc rating. The problem is now not enough air flow getting in so moisture kicks up especially with all the clothers drying etc. Joys of winter. Short of installing a air / heat recirculation system I'm thinking a decent Dehumidifier. Seems Delonghi are the common ones but no ideas whats good or bad out there House is av size 4 bed any suggestions welcomed thanks

Just had a look on which for you.
Their "best buys" recommendations are: Ebac Powerpac DH700WG The Ebac Powerpac is the most expensive dehumidifier we've tested - but do you get what you pay for? We set it squeezing water out of the air under our tough test conditions - read on to find out if we think you should splash out on this dehumidifier, or save your money for a rainy day. The Ebac Powerpac impressed us enough to earn the Which? Best Buy recommendation - while it's not cheap, its running costs are low and most importantly it's head and shoulders above the rest at sucking water out of the air, making it worth the extra cash. Ebac 2650e DD695WH The Ebac 2650e dehumidifier costs a pretty penny, but will you be pleased with your investment? We put it through tough lab tests to see if spending a bit more means you get a dehumidifier that squeezes water out of the air in super-quick time, or if it's just money down the drain. Read on to find out our verdict. This Ebac is one of our Best Buys so it's worth the high price tag. It's not quite as good at dehumidifying as its Best Buy sister model, the Ebac Powerpac, and its filters need replacing regularly, but it is cheaper. So maybe look out for an Ebac, they seem to do what's intended. |

what he said! We have one here - 3 bed detached and it pulls out so much water from somewhere its scary. Customer service has been briliant too.. 5 yr guarantee on it when we bought it and when it broke down was replaced free no quibbles. Oh to add.. we had the powerpac!

We bought a Delonghi DES16E which retails for around £200 around 6 weeks ago and it's amazing how much water it extracts - it's only just started to get on top of things so am emptying the reservior every two days now. I bought it from energybulbs.co.uk for £157 delivered which wasa bit of a bargain.
The one I actually wanted was a DIO Ruby Dry DH600 due to being quieter, but quite a bit more expensive, but once I found the Delonghi so cheap, the difference was too much for me to swallow so tried the cheaper one. Only gripe with the Delonghi is that is not the quietest, there is a definate background 'hum', similar volume to a bathroom extractor fan, but we've soon got used to it and zoned it out. This is our first dehumidifier and have been happy overall with it. What I did find was that the more research you do the more confused you'll get. I eventually got pissed off with all the minor little differences and ultimately not really knowing what it'll be like until too late. Make your choice and crack on with it .

Ventilation.
Have a decent over-run fan in the bathroom, shower room, kitchen etc. There's a limit to what you can achieve at night, because of the noise, but two adults expel a large amount of vapor in a bedroom, during the night. (Largely depending on their night time habits )
