Do you have the base system?

Links, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=infinity

I also have 4 35w 4" infinity 4012i speakers that replace the 35w base speakers. These are 4 prong but were easily modified to fit and they sound great.

Look into Bavarian Soundwerkes, they build plug-n-play speaker packages for our cars for about $600.

if you're replacing, JL Audio makes some of the best sounding and long term dependable speakers on the market for a reasonable cost.

Most people will recommend you don't do that. Atleast from what I researched anyway...

This belongs on the Stereo & Electronics suboard

http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16
The above link is to the suboards

stereo board above .
What you can put in depends on if you have a coupe or sedan
and which system you start out with.
There isn't a big list of stuff that fits but what has been proven
to work is in on of the following links.

I like the JL products

But they don't make speakers that fit in the doors or floors on these cars.
A lot of people use there subs .

Adaptor kits can be found for every speaker brand and car on the market...

search and research on a particular speaker brand. i upgraded my whole system in my Tacoma with JL speakers, RF subs (one for the mids and one dedicated for the sub), JL tweeters, Alpine 7" INA-W105 DVD/Nav head unit...it's like an Imax theatre in my truck

The trouble with finding speaker for a BMW

Putting the fitment issue aside. Most of there systems use 2 ohm speakers
so they can inflate the value of the watts out per channel . So when you try to put in the standard 4 ohm speakers that are available the power is effectively cut by about half.

The only aftermarket speakers are BSW's
and a limited amount in the list in the links.
There aren't a lot of 4 inch speakers that are under 2 inches in depth.
If you want to start cutting into your doors or design new panels
you can custom make stuff that will fit but you won't be able to do it any other way.

Agree to a degree with Ctuna...unless the current speakers are shot...more trouble and $$$ than the actual return. You risk a whole world of issues from the restrictive BMW electricial system...

I mounted CDT Audio HD-42 component speakers with the stock underseat woofers, and a sub in the trunk.

But the CDTs are too deep to mount under the door panel, so I had to mount them on top of the panel. Normally to do this you would have to sink screws into the panel, however I did some building with aluminum and I was able to "pull" the speakers into the door so I did nothing to the panel.

See this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299816

Does the Jeep have the same sound system

The same power output . I bet the jeep has thick doors do you know
what the power output is what the original speaker specs were when you changed it. You need to learn what the differences are . People normally don't
get away with just upgrading the speaker in an E9x series car unless it has
a logic 7 based stereo . It requires a combination of amplifiers and speakers.

yes sir - i had the grand idea to upgrade my head unit until I learned of the MASSIVE hassle's associated with an aftermarket radio in the BMW 3 series...damn german cars have us by the balls if you want to mod anything associated with the electrical system!

If you have the Hi Fi system

You can do some nice upgrades to the speakers and amp and its pretty easy.
But its not real cheap. 1k to 2k if you can self install.
