GVR Trim Swap: All my blacks for your upper chromes
Anybody in GVR wanna go for black window trims? I will trade all 6 pieces of my black trims for your upper 2 chrome trims. You can do whatever you want with your chrome lower trims, as most people say around the DIY section that after removal they can't really be resued.... I will buy new lower chrome window trims from Crown or something.
Let me know if anybody is interested in this deal. When I have a swapper confirmed, I will order the lower trims from Crown. When they arrive we can meet up and do the swap and install together. I'm looking to DIY for install/swap btw. Thanks! |

This kit is sold only as a set for $591.50 before taxes part #51950404930
you can buy separate components from Crown BMW or dealer but if you add up the cost, it may cost you more than the set. We (BiscottiGelato and I ) checked with Crown BMW, they won't sell us the chrome upper window trims because its too big to ship. Therefore, I am forced to buy them locally. If you are interested in the 4 chrome windows sill trims, best place to buy is Crown BMW. Last edited by alanchan; 07-29-2007 at 12:00 AM.. |

Dang I just saw this. and i don't want to get into work too late, so I guess I'm skipping this install. If you can maybe u can take a video of it so we can post it up on DIY section? LOL.
Otherwise, bump, i'm still looking for trim swap. Don't want to cough up $600. |

Hello guys
got it done today Thanks to Ryan @ Nixon Auto Howard, I don't think you want to swap someone black with chrome because once the sills are removed, they are bend, and you have to bend them back, maybe its very hard to reuse the installer made a mistake on one of the chrom sill trim and he has to order a new piece for me tomorrow. see pictures

but there is a DIY forum you can check it out. from the members here who done this task before, they said the lower one are bend once removed. but if you have a way to straighten them, I think they can be re-use

Isn't the black ones just plain rubber though? Why would they 'bend' permanently? Shouldn't they just straighten out once installed back?
I know the chrome ones if bent can't be bent back cuz the chrome finish will be screwed up... Ricky if you want black, either swap with me or take Alan's. If you have the chrome trim lying around afterwards maybe I can buy them off you? PM sent. |

the chrome ones are definitely install for once and if you remove, its garbage. so Howard, are you buying the lower sills from Crown? let me know if you do because I want to buy a small item from Crown too.
