LCI Rear Light Coding
I tried fitting a set of LCI rear lights on my e93 earlier this week with the correct harness adapters.
I was expecting the lights to work but throw up an error message on the dash/idrive screen but the lights just didn't work at all. Does anyone if you need to carry out the coding once the lights are fitted or should they work as soon as they are plugged in ? |

Mine worked as they should do as soon as they were fitted, but did throw up the error code as I was expecting it to do.
The coding (disable bulb check) should be done post installation How old is your car? It could be that your footwell module needs upgrading to FRM3. Where did the harness come from? |

I was told that pre 58 cars the newer module would be required. I'd fit all four lights and see if they work before reaching any conclusion. |

I believe there is a combination of having an update on the footwell module and having the bulb warnings turned off to prevent the low current draw from the LEDs to keep triggering this.
This modification has been done several times before - there is a full guide on here somewhere |

I'll try fitting all 4 lights and see if the lights actually turn on.

Tried the left hand side this afternoon and the lights worked but other side won't for some reason.
No idea why one side works and the other doesn't. It's not the lights as both sides work but only on one side which is a bit odd. |
