Just got off the phone with a DINAN sales representative (an actual DINAN employee). I called them directly.

Availability: Monday, December 10th

Price: $1999.00 (reflash only)

Warranty: Only offer warranty that matches New Car Limited Warranty (NO Extended Warranty coverage)

The reflash will only be available if you have an OEM or DINAN oil cooler installed.

I wonder if I can just reflash my ECU back to stock after the New Car Limited Warranty expires...... lol

Don't think anyone will be that shocked by the price.

Very Sly Terry, but I doubt there will be too many people who pay (by my estimate $2000) for the Dinan flash and have their warranty intact, only to have someone else mess around with it and if caught then have their warranty voided.
Would kind of defeat the purpose of paying more for the Dinan flash and having the security of having your warranty still intact.

The Dinan flash, plus Catback exhaust, plus drop in filter would be a pretty sweet set up.
Would be PROcede v1.48 power (maybe a tick more) with a complete warranty intact.
If you add DP's to that, you'd be at the level of a stock car with PROcede v2.02, but I still don't know too many dealers who are okay with catless DP's and keeping your warranty intact.

We all paid $40-50k and risk our warranties daily.

FWIW if you do something like the Dinan it is best to keep the car otherwise 100% stock. Even changing the catback or air filter could cause them to not honor their warranty.

Well, I nailed that price. I think I said $1995 earlier though.
But close enough to nailing it.

yeah, some do, but will people who pay more for the Dinan reflash be willing to do the same?

Sorry in the latest post you said $2000, $5 over. It works like "the price is right", so the guy that bid $1 just won.

I was rounding up for the sake of discussion.
My official estimate was several posts earlier and that was $1995.
Do I get a "new car"??

But, forums crowds are the extreme enthusiasts.
We make up probably 2% of 335i owners (at most).

There will be a TON of 335i owners who want MORE power, but also don't want to have to worry about removing anything for warranty coverage.
They won't give a rats arse about customization of power levels.
They simply WANT more power.

Based on Dinan's hp/torqe claims, they are equal to the PROcede v1.47 in power (actually a tiny bit more if those power claims are on 91 Octane fuel).
To get that level of performance (+45-50 rwhp), plus maintain all factory warranties for $2000 would be a no brainer for A LOT of people

Not to mention many dont want to, or dont feel comfortable removing a bunch of parts from their car to open up and stick a bunch of wires into the CPU, or even reach in blindly and up-plug a sensor while hopefully not snapping off clips.

Getting a flash from Dinan is going to the "gentlemans tune" requiring nothing more than driving to an authorized dealer and handing them your Credit Card.

I, for one, would be interested in doing this.

If I was to get the Dinan tune and Terry came out with something similar to the SSTT where it is a quick PnP option then I'd do it. My only complaint about the ProCede (and this applies to the JB and Xede) is that it's annoying to have to add and remove it for service (Not hard just annoying).

That being said the 2k price is a tad higher than I'd like.

Dinan has one HUGE advantage that no one here has mentioned - ready market access.

All the tuning houses represented here on this forum need to go out of their way to market, advertise, and otherwise attract customers. Dinan doesn't have to do this - they get free advertising from their Dinan-authorized BMW dealers.

I mean, think of this: you drop your precious new 335/535 for an oil change, and the SA asks you how you like your car. You say it's marvelous, you like the handling and acceleration blah blah service talk while you wait for your loaner or rental. And then the SA drops the bomb - how would you like another 80BHP and a wad more torque, ready when you pick up the car tonight, all with intact warranty?

All the tuners here would KILL for an opportunity like this...

I know a M3 is an M3, but how would that work with BMWNA trying to sell M3?
335i Dinan = 380bhp 380tqlb or whatever that is for ~48K
M3 = 414bhp 295lbtq - ~62K

I don't think it would even offered that way. just my .02c.

What happens if you need to update the ECU for some reason??
A friend ,for instance, had problems with the BMW Multi-cd player and needed to update the ECU version.
What happens in this case cause as I know the "reflash" is deleted?
