Any recommendations for LED Fog lights - M TECH E90

I've just about 95% Completion for M Tech front retrofit. Fitment was great, loving the new look and boom car says fog light malfunction on the dash. Then it hit me that I totally forgot that I needed new 9007/HB4 Bulbs. Hahaha

Long story short - I need to see some examples for Led fogs (HIDs input is welcomed as well). Any suggestions?

May want to check out the vendor section here. I personally run HPB HID kit but there is also the HPB LED Fog Light kit available too.

I was actually about to ask you what you thought of the LED fogs I see on your website. I'm only skeptical of the leds as I had a pair and while they looked, great the function of them actually was pretty trash to actually light up the road.

Zdatt 12,000 lumen set is quite powerful.... $35ish, amazon. Comes with gimmicky looking color filter caps if you want to go yellow or purplish blue also.

No codes, does flicker on engine start for a couple seconds though. Reuse gaskets from Halogen instead of supplied ones for proper fitment. Lighting output sufficient for night driving with headlights off, also helps light up signs and stuff that falls outside of the HID cutoff.

PS wont fit Angel Eyes though, alas (which is where I initially planned to stick em) due to heatsink design

Well any old LED won't work well. For example, if you installed the H8 Angel Eyes we offer in the fog lights, sure they will work and light up, but the output won't work that great compared to an LED specifically designed for the application. Also with an LED not being used as intended it could cause a lot of glare and oncoming vehicles will get blinded.

Where the LED are placed and how they portray light outward or towards the reflectors in the housing makes all the difference.

Often people shop by price and blindly buy the cheapest LED that has the same bulb type and that is a majority, if not all the issue.

Anyway, the HPB LED Fog Light kit we sell is specifically made for applications such as fog lights and headlights. The LED are spaced and pointed in a way similar to a stock halogen to allow the housing to reflect a maximum amount of the light outward and even, just like a factory bulb would with minimal glare.

When it warms up, I'll likely switch to LED Fog lights in my BMW, I've already done it on my corvette and they are Awesome!

They do indeed look very bright for fogs.

I had ordered the pair of HPB from top gear solutions. Haven't had a chance to install them as yet because of weather here in the north east. I shall post pics once installation is complete.

We aren't allowed to post links here since it's not the vendor classified section. PM sent.

Any regular member is welcome to share the link.

Update with pics:

They are super bright! Way better than I expected and might be over the top.

First picture shows Low beams only and second pic Both Fogs and low beams. The Color temp is a lot more blue-ish than what an iPhone could capture it seems. (I'll play around with my actual DSLR later)

If anyone wants an actual pick showing the car I could do that. I figured the back yard pics would do more to show the unit's lightspread. I'm extremely happy with them. I will go back in to get the angle on the driver's side better.

Slight issues I had which are not to be blamed on the leds. The fog light housings aren't OEM; they were supplied with the bumper for the retrofit. Cutting a few tabs to the grooves that the leds/bulbs should fit in. Also the connection point to original factory connectors wouldn't work. I suspect this due to the connectors of sport and non-sport cars are different. The error cancellers that I purchased with the kit saved me with that headache.

On to pics!

Thanks Again Jeff@TopGearSolutions

E90 is happy again with no little triangle in the cluster!

This look extremely obnoxious. Is that how much glare there actually is in real life?

Very true! I have a hard time understanding how some people can be so inconsiderate to drive around with obnoxious lights.

Just so you know the HPB ones we offer have a specific placement of the LED's to mimic the factory halogen bulb, this reduces glare significantly to be nearly as good as the stock bulb while still providing more output.

Guessing the pictures are reversed from what you stated? Are those the standard output 4,500 lumen or upgraded 6,000 lumen?
