I bought mine used cpo at Crevier, they gave me a hard time with just changing the sparkplugs under warranty. About 1 month later I took it to Monrovia BMW and they noticed the noise and changed it for free at 49xxx miles. Moral to the story try another dealer. I here Mc Kenna is good too.

Hi all I'm new to the forum and have this issue. Rev the car while in N and turbos at clunky/rattly while reving down. My problem is, I only bought it about a month ago. It didnt have this problem when I bought it. The dealership is saying the turbos will be replaced if need be but the waste gate hoses are not covered and they cannot determine the turbo issue unless the hoses are replaced. This is incorrect right? They are charging 650 for the hoses and will 'pay' half so 325 out of my pocket. I'm under the impression the waste gate and turbos are covered under this extended warranty, right? By the way, I'm at 81,000 miles. Any advice?

If theres an issue enough to do that id assume they would just do full turbo replacement. |

so is the Turbo waste gate problem just a noise? will that noise lead to any potential problems? yesterday morning I got in my 2007 335i Coupe (62k miles), which was running fine the day before, pressed start and the car just sputtered. Although it was struggling at idle and sounded like it was misfiring or not running all cylinders. I drove about a 100yrds and then parked it. Definitely, no power when I gave it gas. Blue/White smoke began pouring out of the tail pipes. I could also see oil (or what seemed like an oily substance) in the tail pipes. I kinda figured I blew a head gasket or something, but the car was cold when I started and my fluid levels seemed fine.
5 months ago I spent $1400 for a new alternator and Battery. 1 month ago I spent $700 for a daytime headlight bulb and an oil change. I'm bleeding money and have nothing left to fix this new problem on my dream car, which I do love, but has been nothing but problems. I bought it new and I've had almost 2 dozen warranty issues. Any extremely helpful and inexpensive ideas? |

I had tried to fix the wastegate rattle myself by tightening the actuator rod as mentioned in another thread. It did help, but did not get rid of the rattle completely. I actually set it back to normal and a little looser before going into the dealership lol. I was getting a pretty bad rattle on cold starts as well as low rpm acceleration and deceleration. The SA called me 2 days later and told me they would replace the turbos! I was super excited! Just got my car back yesterday, took them 3 days. It was noticeably more peppy at the throttle even while stock. The difference was pretty dramatic once the JB4 was put back in. Stage 1 felt almost like stage 2. Anyways, I got it done at Stevens Creek BMW for those of you in the Bay Area. The SA was Ken Evans. He was pretty cool guy. As i picked up my car I told him I was excited to put my parts back in. He pretended to cover up his ears and said he didn't hear anything, and then he told me he didn't really care

Anyone have experience working with a central NJ dealer? Had my car for three weeks and have no relations with Princeton BMW, which I am 5 minutes away from. My car, stock, is rattling even at cruising RPMs.

Hi All,
I am about to purchase a 2008 E90 335i with 53K miles. I just want to make sure that this Turbo/Wastegate warranty that started last year is still in effect today before I sign on the dotted line. Thanks in advance! |

Get the dealer to pull up the car history and see if any recall was ever done. Recall itself is not mileage limited, IIRC. However, if your car is not on the recall list, or it was already done, then it's on your dime to fix it.

If I had an accident, would they still cover the turbo recall? Only rear quarter panel was damaged....and non for the engine compartment. PLus, I have fmic and dp, and I assume they gotta go for me to at least get the rattles checked and possible replaced turbos under warranty. Let me know what you think, guys.

thank you. It's still a gamble though. Taking out dp and fmic might require either extra labor fee or time. I don't have any issue with turbo performance(later will check if I get any leaking boost), at least by what I feel, but rattle is what's bothering me esp when I let my accel off. How can you check if boost is leaking or turbos are not functioning properly?
