Instrument functions are not working
Today, I turned on my car and none of my instrument functions are responding (gas gauge, speedometer, etc). Also, my clock is displaying dashes.
It does not appear to be a battery issue, because everything else works (radio, power windows, etc). After doing a bit of research, it appears that this may be a coding problem? I have not made any coding changes. Will BMW charge me to fix this? |

sounds like your battery could be getting low....these cars act up when batteries are on their way out.....they shut down or interrupt non essential features, like the radio, clock, ect if they sense a low battery...apparently in an effort to give you one or two more cranks on the starter to keep you going...but usually or eventually you will see a battery light.....

I had a similar issue but my outside temp display would be off and some of my radio stations would not display. Also my car would intermittently lose power while driving( lights would cut off) Dealer said it was my alternator. Replaced it $1200. Then my battery went $330.

I just replaced my battery for 150.00 bucks...registering today with the free software found on this forum...(donated to the software company yesterday which you can do on the site) double check the prices you get if going to dealerships...always check with a reputable Indy first.... JP |
