I bought a e93 today. The roof is down and the car has no power. The car has had a accident to the front. I need to get the roof up somehow. I think there is no power as the blow off lead has gone off on the battery positive wire due to the accident.

I have tried to connect a booster to the engine bay positive terminal but still no power.

Is there a way the manually get the roof up?

I can't get to the battery as the roof is in the boot.

This has me totally stumped.

Nope sorry cant find anything in there. Just information on cars with sunroofs. Doesn't sound good hope its not too expensive. Are the rear headrests up? If the rollover sensor goes off you need to push the rollover protection bits down in the back.

Crickey mate very unlucky with your new car. I hope no one was hurt in the accident.

I don't think there is a way to over ride the roof mechanism. I'm pretty sure the manual doesn't say anything about it.

Best off getting it under cover tonight and getting it in a garage tomorrow.

Do you think the front end is repairable?

Thanks guys. Yes the roll over bars have come up, il push them down tomorrow. Thanks for the link il try that tomorrow. Iv covered the car for tonight.
Here's the poor car. It will repair with around 2.5k




Should be repaired in month or two. I can do a build thread if there's intrest.

Sorry to hear of the accident

I'm not aware of any manual way of raising the roof. I looked on the link and under my carpet I have the Bluetooth module and alpine amp. Mine is totally different.

And as said when the roof is folded down there is no access to that part of the boot.

Once your rollover bars are locked down it should fold back up and you will get to see if the accident has twisted the chassis as the roof line might be out for the front locking pins.

Seems like he bought it as it is.
OP bypass BST (battery safety terminal) and connect the power to the other side of it (only for short term). Get your roof up and get the car repaired.
If you not sure, google BST.

Depends on the damage, wouldn't say all Cat registered cars are face-lifted. But its clear that he needs a new bonnet and bumper. I know which parts I would be buying, although its meant to be tricky getting new angel eyes coded and working

Seems the emergency operation requires a number of special tools.

The link in #5 post refers to the hydraulic relief screw on the roof motor, manual looks a lot more complicated rather than relieving the hydraulic pressure. You must be able to get to the motor with the roof in the boot as it is covered in the manual.

Hi, how can I bypass the bst if I can't get to the battery in the boot because the roof is in there

I'm not going to facelift it. The facelift parts cost a lot more

It could be worth a go just releasing the hydraulic pressure but I have a feeling that you need to release some locking points with the special tools.

I think it is the one on the left nearest to you, manual says just release a few turns don't remove. In the picture you supplied it looks a different colour to the rest. Please report back if this works as it may be handy in the future.
