I currently live in NY and will be moving to CA this summer. However, I wanted to start looking now for car. As I currently live in NY, but will spend time in the Midwest before going to CA, I could really pick up a car anywhere.

What I was thinking of in a car would be:

-2007+ BMW 335i (E92) or xi
-Not too picky on the color: blue, silver, black, white, gray would all be good
-Prefer 6 speed manual transmission
-If manual, preferably with the AWD and/or xDrive option, so that it has hill-assist for those CA hills (I think AWD and/or xDrives are the only ones with hill-assist, but correct me if I'm wrong)
-Navigation preferred
-Hoping to find a car that’s certified pre-owned and has some warranty on it (2 years would be ideal)
-Lowish miles
-Pricing of around $25,000-$30,000
-Slightly modified exterior would be nice; don't care too much about engine modifications

Also might consider a newer Z4.

I have a 328xi drive, selling at 34k or up for a lease transfer for $472.41/month until lease expires in 2014 Oct (lease buyout at 27.8k). I am located in Chicago,IL. It's all wheel drive, has navigation, moon roof, i-phone connectvity, steptronic transmission and many other features. Message me and I can provide all the details! Personally, I would pick up a lease on a BMW and save by not investing capital in the car, and have the option to exercise a purchase at lease end.

Don't think a lease is the best option for me as I will be commuting ~80 miles a day for the next two years and will rack up some serious miles on the car.
