Bluetooth Audio streaming 335d '09

I just acquired the above car and was trying to figure out the BT audio streaming. I read online that it doesn't work with models before 2013. So what are the options at this point. Right now, the phonebook connects & works fine.

Also, I downloaded the bmw wireless app and looks pretty sweet. I have to try it in the car.

Please advise on the bluetooth audio streaming option. Unless there is an adaptor. I'm using an iphone 6 plus.

Thank you

The Bluetooth Music streaming A2DP will only work with CIC entertainment systems (LCI models). You're borderline with 2009, so I hope you have it.

Mine has a production date 11/2011 and it works flawlessly.

If you have USB/ipod

The cheap option is the wma 1000 , 2000 , 3000
You need USB ipod for this.
if you can spend more
combox retrofit if possible or
Dension 500s bt gateway
still more NBT retrofit to the Nav/idrive.

FYI you can also do this by getting a BT receiver (~$50) then connecting that to your AUX, plus the socket power connection. That's how I had it in my pre-LCI E92 (2008). Fits snug!

I got the Nyrius Songo back then; power cable and USB-power input you have to buy separately.

I have a 2011 335i with Nav and iDrive, but can't figure out how to setup the audio streaming. Can you help me out with that?

I agree that most of the bluetooth setups aren't great. I went through a few that I wasn't happy with until I installed the Rocketfish one. It's made for home theater and has a digital output so I assumed it would have better sound quality (not using the digital output in the car but I figured if it didn't work out I'd hook it up to my home stereo). I had to make a cable for it to work in the car but I saw some cables/chargers on ebay that would work with it. Pairs up no problem and reconnects automatically, sounds great with no hiss, supports aptx, etc. It doesn't plug into the ipod adapter so you won't see the song info or be able to skip songs with steering wheel, but for my purposes that doesn't matter. Sound quality is all I care about and this one sounds great and is only $27 at Best Buy.

Do you have any info on the power cable you used for it in the car?

Arcam Miniblink is also a nice option if you're after decent sound quality via bluetooth and AUX in port. Pricier than other models I know, but its convenient and you can use it on your home stereo too.

I ended up getting the ViseeO Tune2air WMA3000b
Works great and no issues. That way, if my friends come for a ride and want to stream their music from their phones, no need for unplugging cables etc.

I snipped an extra power supply from an old cordless phone or something and soldered it onto a USB cable and use a standard USB bullet charger. These look like they'd work also if you don't want to solder

The ViseeO Tune2air WMA3000b just arrived today. Hooked it up and I have to say im 100% pleased. Steering wheel controls for music on my S4 work great. It even switches flawlessly to a call and then switches back to music afterwards. I recommend 100%!
