have you called BR Racing in Los Gatos? I am sure they will do great work at less than the dealer cost.

PREFERABLY a shop in San Jose since I get the "engine overheated" messages after about 10 miles.
Out of curiosity, what mileage is your car at? Also, are you running any mods? Lastly, have you ever flushed your coolant?

I'm just over 50k and am trying to gauge when I should worry about the cooling system. I have no mods and only started flushing every two years starting at about 40k. Pitiful.

i just flushed my coolant system a month ago.. does this mean my t-stat and water pump is going soon? i did get a cheek engine light a week ago for t-stat, and I'm hearing the engine bay fan really loud...

btw, is this all because i did a coolant flush?

Sounds like the symptoms of a failing water pump or tstat. I would suggest you take it to the dealership if you're still under warranty.

Can't help you there
You definitely shouldn't if there's a strong chance that's the reason. I didn't really have any warning symptoms then one day driving on the freeway from work and all I hear is a pop and engine overheat.
