Suspension noise

i've got this same problem. damn time to DIY!

I'm glad I came accross this thread. I too thought it was the cold weather casuing the noise (scape crunch) to the front end.

I'm getting my free oil change soon so I'll mention the bushing issue at the same time

FYI: I have 31,000km

i have the same noise (i think).. but i'm lowered on H&R's.. i figured it was due to the springs, and I doubt the dealer will touch it given the fact that its lowered.. I might bring it up next time i'm in for service though, and see if its the sway bar bushing issue.

My coilovers make weird noises when cold... maybe its the same with your stock suspension?

Same here, I'm getting my free oil change done this weekend so I'll have them check it out while I'm there. With this cold snap these last few days I've been noticing the noise more often on the larger bumps. I've got about 24,500km now.

Just booked it for Feb. 28th to look at the sway bar bushings etc.

They also tell me there is a recall on the car for some emissions software update

Does this mean my Dinan software will need to be reflashed

glad i'm not the only one that gets this noise...i did a search a while back and couldn't find anything related so i was starting to get worried

anyone know how much those bushing costs and can provide a link to a good diy write-up (out of warranty)

my noise is really getting annoying now
at first it started as a clunk....now it sounds like my front end is going to collapse and something is going to pop out of the hood...strong crunching sound
bringing it in on feb 15 so well see the situation

Getting my regular sched maintenance on Thurs Feb 17 at BMWToronto and raised the issue when i booked the appointment. Will provide an update once I see what they have to say about the squeaking/clunking noise.. fingers crossed...

it is more like a squeaking noise tho...(like metal rubbing against metal?)
only hear it from the front, and usually when going down ramps from parking lot.

I thought it was normal.....hmm...i will ask them to look at it next time I bring it in for service.

So far the replacement bushing on the front swaybar has been holding up.....

i think the squeeking noise is coming from the brake sensors...i'm gunna remove mine soon, and from this thread it looks like the clunking is from loose end links....gunna get under the car this weekend, will report back

i have this problem too. if I dont go over speedbumps really really really slow the noise will come. same noise as all described above.

happens more often in the cold, on the warmer days i couldnt hear it.

Holy, so many ppl. I have exactly the same thing. I thought it was due to cold or salt, and my H&R springs. Last year car didnt make any noise.

Fuk!!! what to do? I cant take of the springs just so i can go to the dealer. then put them back on, and then take them of when giving the car back. Too much money.

I've been hearing a clunk on some speed bumps recently...glad I saw this thread to remind me to get it checked during the winter if that makes it easier to reproduce. I though it might have been ice build up.

Same issue with my car too, started with cold weather. I'm at 69000km, and I have aftermarket springs and shocks. My last few attempts at dealership for suspension problems were turned down, they blamed it all to aftermarket suspension

I'm not very hopeful on this one. I will wait to see updates on how others get treated :/
