Edit: Thanks for the response.... to be clear, the large red boost hose appears clean and clear. Just the under tray aft and below of that where some speckling of oil is starting to develop, figure it could be anywhere, turbos or boost hose, but as far as I can see the boost hose is clean (looking from top) Last edited by taibanl; 11-02-2013 at 11:31 PM.. |

Still not sorted , garage thought it may be pressure converters , luckily they had all spares on there shelf , swapped everything over that was possible to change but cars still exactly the same , They said they will have to take turbo's off etc etc and have it a few days before they know what the problem is , they said usually its an easy fix but this is not the case ????

Make sure you get your Mechanic to check the VAC hose connections. Even after doing all this, i still had an issue with low power at lower RPM's, and it turned out when we swapped VAC lines, one of them was plugged into wrong place. I cant recall which one was it, but it was not at the right spot. After correcting it when i took mine for a test drive, it threw me sideways!

Here is a link. I guess this must be the way it should be connected? http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...85&hg=11&fg=45
One think it notice is that when the car performs DPF regeneration it very quick and also it has no lag to talk about. For example driving around in D doing a kick down it flyes away as soon the gearbox has made the gear change. When not in DPF regeneration it shifts down and start to slowly and after 2 second it flyes! |

Im posting som INPA values:
First photo is taken at approximately 1500rpm full load in 6th gear.. been pulling from 1100rpm so boost is very stable but way much lower the the desired value to the left... The boost basically wont go up more than this unless we hit around 2000rpm Second photo is at neutral holding it at 2400rpm.. Think the MAF value desired vs. real is a bit off here right? Can it be a MAF-problem? |

Also found a video of the actuator on a 335d..
After 20 sec after turning of the engine it should release pressure... Mine does not do this like this.. it holds for 10 seconds the it slowly creeps back to deafult position.. take 10 sec to slooowly go back.... Tomorrow i will try to strangle the hose to the actuator to see if it still creeps.. i guess it should not go back. If it does it might be faulty right? If it does not go back the fault can be in the pressure converter (not likley since its already been replaced) or maybe the vacuum cannister? is there a back-pressure valve inside it? Thanks for posting your investigation on this. I don't really have anything helpful to say, but it seems like you're looking at the correct stuff. It must be something to do with part # 2... During DPF regen does the small turbo automatically get bypassed due to exhaust heat? I haven't looked at that (can't anymore), but if that's the case then it would point even more towards part #2...

Anybody get to the bottom of this fault?
My 335d has this exact problem, took the car to my local bmw dealership to diagnose the problem. They say it was the pressure converters for the exhaust, they changed both of them and the bracket and its no different to when I dropped it off apart from its had a wash. |

My dpf had to much ash in it.
Now its removed car is well. Mapped it out. The big clock holds pressure and does not creep. It fixed it self. |
