Sat nav / idrive update

Had my 325i for a day now and slowly getting used to iDrive system. It's a 2005 car and both a cd and DVD slot in the dash.

-Can someone tell me what model I have?
-What is the main benefits of getting a sat nav update disc?
-Does the idrive also get a new features?

I have a 58 plate 330d with the 2009 disc. I can tell you it's still not full post code search and probably never will! But actually it's not bad to use.

I would do your research rather than go straight to BMW to buy the DVD.

new nav dvd will update the maps, not the functionality.

You can do first half and first number of second half of postcode in the "city" part of the entry.

If you update the connected drive stuff and pay the sub, you can forward straight from google as well as get stuff sent to the car by bmw.
