I'd like to know this as well.

How does this kit differ from the original kit VRSF offered?

I'm still waiting on the revised midpipe for the V1 exhaust so I can reinstall my brace.

It's going to be a straight pipe with a couple small resonators at the end. We have to make it as modular as possible due to costs and the fact that we'd have to redesign the entire exhaust.

Just a quick update, looks like the new design will not fit XI's as of right now. The front pipe gets a bit too close to the transfer case. I'll start modifying the front pipe next week and get the ball rolling on a new front setup to accommodate the transfer case.

Tiago, please explain what the differences are between this exhaust version and the initial exhaust version. Nice price.

Thanks.

I don't agree, the flex portion of the exhaust is now in the Y portion, as opposed to the 3.5" straight portion seen in the initial version. Maybe in turn this was changed to make for better fitment?

What other changes were made? I think these are simple questions that many would like answered before purchasing.

Thx.

The overall fitment, ground clearance, tip & muffler alignment and retention of the v-brace are all improvements in this version over the previous.

How does the sound of this exhaust compare to the BMW PE? Obviously louder, but a substantial amount?

Isn't that pretty much what the HPF exhaust was? Only that was much more than the VRSF.

I think the Race would still sound different than a muffler delete since you're merging the exhaust flows into a single pipe. That's going to impact the sound some.

For those who want the race setup, if you dislike rasp, I don't recommend it.

I currently have straight pipes with ar20 resonators in place of my secondary cats, catless downpipes as well of course. The exhaust paths are crossed by use of an x-pipe.

Below 5k rpm, there is no rasp, and the exhaust tone is quite deep and somewhat intoxicating. It isn't refined, but it's quite delightful. Right around 5k rom and above, the rasp is absolutely present and ridiculous; I would compare this sound, at this particular rpm range, similar to that produced by a straight piped civic. I in absolutely no way would compare this 'rasp' to the desirable rasp sound produced by the e46 m3 s54 motor or the e36 s50/s52 m3 motor.

My $0.02 for those that automatically assume the race version is the better route because it is louder.

It's suppose to be the same sound as the previous, just with some tweaks for fitment. The muffler is the same otherwise IIRC.

Installed the new VRSF exhaust today at my shop. Excellent packaging, all components undamaged. Took about 3 hours, most of time spent was making slight adjustments to fit perfect. And fit perfect it does. Just have to be patient with any exhaust system to properly line things up. Spacers under cross frame brace leave enough clearance between pipe. Muffler hangs just right and tips are easy to adjust. Pipe fits good in between the exhaust tunnel only one spot where it is a little tight (see pic).

Exhaust note is perfect for me. Not too loud and a deeper tone. I'm very happy. Have the VRSF catless downpipes. I wanted a deeper tone and this exhaust delivers. Great sound at 4-6k rpm. No drone, no rattles, no rasp.
Of course, you can smell the exhaust now with no cats but trade-off is worth it.

Thanks Tiago for another great product!

just finished the same. the tips were the biggest pita to get right. Mine didn't want to line up right. i still have to go back and adjust them a little. the muffler hug a little low on one side for so I had to bang the hanger a little for an even fit. and the last rear section of the exhaust is extremely tight which you can see in the pic. that was as far as I could get it away from the arm. it would've been nice if the brace spacers came with extended screws as well Tiago@VRSF but other than that it sounds great. perfect tone for daily driving, enough to notice but not over the top. well see how my neighbor likes cold starts now haha
