Bluetooth phone problem
hey everyone,
i got my 2007 320i a couple months ago and i ordered it with the bluetooth phone package and they gave me a cradle and a nokia 6230i..the dealer said that this was a special phone that allows u to see the names in the phone book on the stereo screen and use the voice entry button on the wheel and show the caller name when u recieve a call..but i read on the posts here and the bmw usa site that u can use differnt phone..the phone i use these days is an imate jam (xda mini)pda phone,i have that paired but no names show up on the screen and i cant access the phone book from the stereo..i tried using 2 other phones, nokia 6670 and a razr (didnt work at all cuz i had difficulties pairing it) and still same thing..no incoming caller name..just the number..no names on the screen and no phonebook..is it really true that i can ONLY use the phone that came with the car or is there some way to get passed this? thankz |

Not a "special" phone but it is compatible.
You simply need a phone that's fully compatible. I cannot make a recommendation since the TCU will vary by market (and so will available mobile phones) but your phone is clearly not fully compatible so you have to get the list of compatible phones from the BMW importer.
