Whats up guys. New to the forum, just picked up an 06 325i. This summer someone should organize a drive up to road america maybe for the sprints or something. Any suggestions for a comfortable riding coilover setup? car is gonna be my dd so i dont want a harsh ride.

its been talked about. there is a meet down at autobahn country club in joilet IL, check the regional great lakes section for info.


coils i prefer bilsteins or kw's because of build quality and being stainless, some of the other brands arent so winter snow/salt can corrode them. if you just want a drop you can also just consider doing eibach springs only, they ride low but soft (and firm)

Hi, I've recently bought my first 3 series, and live in the Madison area. Are there any organized meets/drives? I would love to meet others with similar interests and share ideas, drink beer, and get our toys out on the open roads.

Just to give you all an idea, we had a meet atop monona terrace 2-3 yrs ago. Only 10 or so peeps showed but I bet you could get the same again if not more. Then Caravan it to Brats or something in the down town area for a lunch.

If the weather is nice and the roads are clear on Monday I will be heading to BonFyr to drink some brews to support my friend who is "guest bar tending" in order to raise money for a juvenile diebetes bike ride she is doing this summer. I'll actually be heading there either way, but only in the BMW if the weather is nice. A great opportunity to have a nice meal, enjoy some drinks (i.e. beer), and support someone who is supporting a great cause.

If you're interested in more info, PM me and I'll fill you in.

After that I could see a nice plan for an evening get together at someplace like Steak and Lube on the west side. Maybe a Thursday night later in March. Interest?

Thought I would say hello to the new members...yes I've been quiet and non existent in regards to recent posts, but I still drop in to see what's new in town. Been seeing a lot of n54's as of late...

Ryan, hope you are doing well! Sorry I couldn't make it out awhile back. Finally started buckling down with school so my social life has taken a huge hit. Got some new toys for the car so now no one will ever mistake our cars even though yours has an msport front end and me the aero lip. You have no idea how many calls I got of people who saw you and thought it was me! LOL So if you ever had any weirdos try to honk or wake or mess around, my apologies! Anyways, hit me up and hopefully we can get us and the cars together and catch up!

Haha, it's all making sense now! Those hot chicks really meant to be honking at you. Yeah, we'll have to have a cruise or another BBQ sometime when it gets nicer out. My car has remained pretty much the same so far. I'll be switching up the rims, adding black trim, and installing the M3 suspension bits pretty soon though. Coilovers will likely come later on this summer.

I think suspension is the last thing I do to the car for right now...too many other things have taken priority before coilovers. If you're curious to see what your car would be + meth and traction, you are welcome to take the xi out when we gtg. You'd be pleasantly surprise the power it sustains.

But we will definitely gtg soon! Hopefully we can set up a meet with some of the new members in town. Be curious to see what I'm up against...lol jk. It would be nice to see some old faces as well as meet new ones!
