seriously this is my opinion, dont bother buying the grills because while putting those in, u have to take off the bumper anyway. not worth spending the 80$ or whatever. Take the bumper off, and take the grills out and paint them yourself.. i toook my bumper off yesterday and am now painting the grills black.

I think the ones sold by the dealers are for the 328, but they fit on 335s as well. The '09 335 already comes with the oil cooler so you would need to modify the 328 mesh to fit in your car. I bought mine from UED since they already sell a modified version of it for 335s at no extra charge.

if you have cold weather package and have the holes in the front bumper for cleaning the lights, its a PITA to take the bumper off because of them and from what i have read it makes the springs in the covers loose and won't be reinstalled correctly...Just paint them on the car with the DIY painted lower mesh grill method...

I wanted to replace them, but for me it wasn't an option because it entailed too much to get the bumper off...I prep the area enough that the paint that i used to paint on with a small brush cannot easily chip...Paint is made for plastic and I am sure in time there will be some minor chips, but nothing like a quick detail with the brush can't take care of! I have seen your car, and realize that modding your car compared to mine is on another level!!! You are going far and beyond what most enthusiast would do and spend and most would paint it rather than take off the entire bumper, well at least in my case!

I popped the middle grill out and painted it, then painted the 2 sides while they were on the car. I used spray paint and I have 0 chips in them. If you tape the car good you will have no issues. Very easy

Mesh
You say that you popped out the middle and painted it then painted the 2 sides while they were on the car. But behind the the 2 sides there are plastic and it will come paint on that plastic will it look strange? I hope you understand what I mean.

YOu have to make sure to clean the grill really well and then basically prep the plastic..use a fine sandpaper and sand it down a little to allow paint to adhere to plastic...Make sure you get the right paint for plastic also and not metal! I did this mod over 5 months ago and its still holding up!
