I know this is an old thread but I just got quoted $225 to cut the muffler out weld a stainless s pipe and two stainless tips. Went to 4 shops 2 said they wouldn't even do it this one and meineke said "buck fifty to two". Anyone know any good shops to check out for cheaper in Boston area?

You want to delete your muffler? Get a hacksaw, saw it off, goto shop and buy a tip for $40 and pay them $50 in labor. In general Lou's seems to charge $25 per weld. You are getting two welds, one where you hacked it off, one on the new pipe for the tip. Personally muffler deletes are kind of stupid. You are making your car sound loud for no reason other than to be loud. It's not going to make you any faster, just noise pollution. Leave that shit for Hondas.
