Its your charcoal filter for your fuel tank. It filters out all the fumes from the gas.

....i know this is what is causing the error, I want to know how to get rid of the error without actually putting the charcoal filter back in bc i dnt have space for it nor is it really that necessary

it could be the remus w some custom work...but i dnt think so...it doesnt look very nice with all those clamps...they have got to be welds...

From what is being described, it is a necessary part of the emissions system. I doubt you are going to get the CEL to go out if the emissions system is not working. That is why the CEL is there.

.....you can also use that charcoal canister for barbecues and stuff. My buddy smoked his ribs one time at the beach with them....sorta mesquite tasting actually.

thanks tard boy, i know that what is causing codes. im asking if anyone knows how to get rid of the code w/o puttin the filter back...

I'm nor specifically familiar with this canister, but I'm going to make the assumption there is an electrical sensor plugged into the cannister that you unplugged to remove the cannister. Is that holds true you might trey this:
1) Use a DVM to measure the resistance between the terminals of the sensor on the cannister 2) Create a jumper with the same resistor value and plug it into the harness you removed from the cannister. This "could" reasonably fool the ecu into believing the sensor is still there. jmd_forest |

I have mine in, I shortened and capped the quads, cant you just cut off the back of the quad tip and cap it and reinstall?

yeh you need that definitely for emissions and air/fuel ratio. Definitely gonna throw codes if it's removed. I had to relocate mine when I did my exhaust

well i most certainly dont care about federal law, and i bet i most certainly culd get the light to turn off just by using a little resistor series or sorts.
if that doesnt work out ill have to relocate it like jays for sure which was my second option, what did you mount yours to? i was going to do wut DC is talkin bout which is kinda like whats goin on in the first pic, but what i was in the shop and we were mapping out the piping my dude was layin everything down for the most freeflowing setup haha and that damn filter just got in the way!
