8.5" ET 22 - Rubbing on e92

So I'm running the OEM style 189 wheels.

8.5" ET 37 in the rear with a 15mm spacer making it et 22.

I have a 255 tire on Barum Bravuris summer tires on and whenver I go through a dip or bumpy section of the road my rear is rubbbing.

My car is lowered in coilovers with about a 0 finger gap, but I'm not tucking the rear tire.... according to what I read on this forum this setup should have worked just fine... is it the square sidewalls on my tires?

I have a set of 9.5" wheels on order with 265 hankooks, maybe those won't rub? Hopefully they don't or I will have to roll fenders or raise my car.

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to roll the fenders, none of the reputable shops nearby me wanna do it... they all HATE rolling fenders due to liability issues.

The only places rolling fenders are the smaller less known places where mostly JDM cars go.

15 mm in the rear and 10 mm up front.

Thinking about trying 10 or 12 in the rear instead or maybe raising it about 1/4".

raise it 1/4" that should fix it
I run 9" wheels ET22 in the back with 265 tires and I only get slight rubbing on very large bumps, I'm about the same height as OEM sport suspension

JDM guys should have lots of practice and be really good at it, as Mclovin says.

...or (obvious answer) just get the right size/offset wheels so they don't rub.

9.5" 33 offset is the regular size that the majority of e9x wheels come in, my current setup is 2mm less aggressive than that so I wasn't expecting any problems.

I will switch the spacers with a 10mm set I have lying around.

But isn't 255 a little wide? I run 265 on 9.5 and it's only slightly stretched. Some guys run 255 for a really aggressive stretch. 255 on 8.5 sounds like it would be rather square.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I'm HOOOPING my 9.5" with the 265's fit... maybe I should try Falken tires instead of the Hankooks for the rounder sidewall.

What are the full specs on your new setup (wheels and tires).

The setup isn't finalized yet but this is what it looks like right now

9.5" et 33 Miro 111

265/30/19 Hankook V12's Or Achilles ATR Sports are my options.

Well I am running something similar. Same specs all around, but with VMR V701 and Falkens. I am lowered with H&R Race which brings the tire slightly above the fender at rest. I got the fenders rolled when it was lowered, so I can't say for certain it wouldn't have rubbed, but just examining it gives me the impression it would have.

I was in the same boat as you - I didn't want to do something like that to my car, but luckily this isn't aggressive enough to require shaving. If you take it to a reputable shop, you will never know. With that being said, I'm surprised they would consider this a liability issue. If that were true, how could they do any business - no engine, suspension or wheel jobs could be any less of a liability than this. Trimming I could understand, rolling shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I'm guessing my setup is very similar to H&R Race, I don't want to run stretched tires so I guess I have to roll or raise.

Time to start searching the g35 and 350z forums for some local places!

The Falken's shoulders are more square and they run wider then the Hankooks
I tried both and chose to keep the Hankooks

This is my prior setup before changing to the ET22 wheels (19X9.5 ET33 Miro 942) and there was no rubbing at the same height

With your current setup if you don't raise the car you will need to roll the fenders slightly or add camber no choice
