Help with deciding 19" tyre size?
Hi Guys,
I have recently bought myself a E92 330i with M-sports suspension. The car has 19" Star Spoke 230 OEM wheels on RFTs. I really like the look of them and want to keep them. However, I came from a Mercedes C-class (17") and the ride on the BMW is way too uncomfortable (obviously I know the Merc and BMW is two extremes and I'm willing to compromise, but I dislike the freaking RFTs). The current tyres on the car are Bridgestone front is 225/35R19 and the rear 255/30R19. The tire sizes currently are very low profile, and I think even if I switch to non RFT and keep the same profiles, it will never get comfortable at an acceptable level due to the low profile. Can you please advise what will be suitable tyre sizes for my car (both front and rear) given I want to keep the 19" alloys and want to increase the tyre thread? Bare in mind, that my car sits lower to the ground because of the M suspension. If you step up the profile size of the tire you will definitely rub. You are stuck between two choices. Buying 18 inch wheels and going with a 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 or sticking to your stock tire size and running non RFT tires. At most you can go to a 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 non RFT. Hope this helps
