2011 Canada Rebates / Discounts

Anybody hearing of rebates or discounts on 2011's yet? With the dollar at parity, it is killing me to look at the premium Canadians are paying vs. their US counterparts. Porsche Canada is offerring $4,000+ to compensate for the exchange rate, yet BMW Canada is sitting on their hands.

Thanks schnell325... follow-up question

Thanks schnell325. Can you confirm these rebates are for MY 2011 (or MY2010)?

I plan on ordering a 2011 335is coupe, that likely won't be delivered until late June/early July. Would this credit apply in my case and how would I ensure I got it off the purchase price? Thanks.

as I understand this, that credit will only apply if you take delivery before may 2nd... I'm in the same boat, my lease will be over within few months and I I'm looking at these rebates but I doubt they will apply.... best thing to do I think, is order a new one and try to negotiate best deal possible, then when your car arrives, if there are any rebates that month they will be deducted from your total sale price and your payments will be lower (if you lease or finance)...

How can you make sure they volunteer such information and actually apply the rebates instead of pocketing them?

Either these rebates are only MY10, or my salesguy just lied to me today. My sales contract on my MY11 says 2000 rebate, and it was a cash deal with delivery today.

I'll be making some calls tomorrow, for sure...

<edit> I just checked CCC and they don't have the MY11 on the members page. They do list all of those rebates on the MY10.

$2,000 for the 2011? That's unfortunate. I assume that you did not get the $1,000 "delivery credit" either?

Let us know what happens with your phone calls. Thanks!

No $1000 either. I'll post back tomorrow.

Can I ask where you got your info from? Don't mention names, if you don't want, but was it from a dealer?

I just got it off CarCostCanada, and assumed (wrongly) that it would apply to the 2011's. Totally an oversight on my part.....

Too bad Porsche has a $15-30000 difference in base price between Canada and the US. Somehow I dont think that $4000 will be enough. Porsche Canada makes me angry.

I dont think BMW can discount their cars much it upsets their cost structure

then the cheap 323 goes from what...33 K to 28 or 29 k? BMW can't be selling 28 K cars anywhere. Thats less than a V6 accord or around there.

Porsche on the other has no real bottom base as low as 30 K.

Doubt you'll se it...unless they get rid of the 323 , make the 328 the base and set it to 35 K and take out xeons the way they do it in the US

BMW just can't do it.

Even in UK, the 318 of BMW once you do the currrency conersion...comes out like 32 K canadian...doesn't seem like BMw likes to drop below the 32 K mark as their low.

Thanks for clearing it up for us David. Very nice to have you on the forum.

(And I assume he means 2011's as the 2010's have the $4,000 alternate cash back)

From what I am reading, the conclusion is BMW Canada is offering zippo to compensate for the exchange rate.

I just built a 335is Cndn vs. US with equivalent options. After the exchange rate, Cndns are paying $11K more than our US counterparts. No wonder people are importing so many vehicles from the US. Gonna go visit the Porsche deadlership tomorrow and check out the Cayman S.

Anytime =)

And yes, those are the 2011 3 Series.

Alternate cash back on 2010's are as follows:

323i-328i xDrive Touring and everything in between - $3000.00
335i-335i xDrive Sedan + 335d - $4000.00

Cannot be combined with other incentives.

Hi David,
Can I ask if the 3000k cash rebate is purely based on making the purchase in cash rather than financing? I'm asking as sometimes salesman will say things like "..well you are already getting 3k off" when you try to negotiate with them. I understand you are a salesman but I just wanted to clarify if that is just false statement that they are making.

On a side note, I don't understand why the cash alternative and the other incentive such as "free automatic" can't be stacked since they allow you to take the "free automatic" credit as well as the 1.9% financing on the the 2010's??

Thanks.
