this does add throttle pick up also, the car is much snappier. I drove with the PbX for 30K miles, so im very familiar with it. The Gintani tune trumps it hands down. Dont get me wrong, I carry the BMS stuff too and they are great products, Terry has done tons for the BMW scene also. but BMS would be a stage 1 Gintani, is stage 2. for those that want more, its here. Pricing is also in drop me a PM |

Way easier then a PBX install I also don't see how it can be 2-3 times more then the PBX, unless you had to design/produce the hardware, even so it could be done at the sub 500 price point. You guys could include 3 "canned" tunes on the programmer, and include the option of having mod specific tunes made via email for a fee. Again that dyno sheet looks great, I do share a concern with the hardware however, If you guys need a 330i to dyno in socal I got one.... Last edited by RemovedUser; 05-06-2010 at 06:18 PM.. |

This looks like a very interesting product.
It's nice to see some competition in the N52 market, as it usually drives innovation and drives down price! One concern of mine, would be the Flash back to stock. Is it the actual stock file being flashed back on? or is a version/copy of the original BMW one? This was an issue for APR Tuning, that some users Bricked ECU's or had cars that ran like crap when going in for service |

my hat is off to him. We can suggest to Terry what we want done for our NA's, but at the end of the day if he's bring'n out a piggyback then that's his professional/business solution. BTW, there is the LET Flash that was out before both. It was a process to get the Flash done. You needed your vin to be read then the flash was packaged for your bimmer then installed threw the OBDII port for bout an hour/or less. Quote:
thank you for answering one of my questions. So, you're saying that a universal stock flash will be provide'd on this USB/OBDII device? or is the stock flash specific to every NA bimmer? it'll be nice when you get a chance to answer the rest of my questions. When you get a chance. and please PM me with pricing. Thanks. Oh, also with that dyno. what other perfomance mod did you have on at the time? and copy dyno chart to page 1.

The way most programmers work is like this.
You plug it in, before you can do anything it backs up the stock file. Once its on the programmer you can then proceede to flash whichever tune you want, once it flashes the tune your programmer becomes locked to that car until you flash it back to stock. |

Frank the Tank:
there will be a generic tune for each, 325,328, and 330 (each there own) and then can be modified if you have the OBD2 to log the data and send it back to us. On the dyno it is a stock engine, with the exception of a K&N drop in and muffler delete. Quote:

CRAVEN!
This is certainly an interesting development for the E90 community. Can you please clarify for me a few things. Will this tune work in a similar way to the PBX in that the PBX modifies the signals used by the ECU, or does it completely overide the mapping on the ECU and use it's own? I am wondering if this product can be implemented in a way to complement the 3 Stage Intake Manifold swap for us 325 owners. Is it in the realm of possibility to purchase the 330 tune and use it on our 325's in conjuction with the 3 Stage Manifold to see the gains your tune is offering? |

this tune is not a piggyback like the BMS, it completely changes the ECU coding. It can be fully optimized for the 3 stage manifold, much smoother then the powerchips tune, i know that for a fact. so you would still have a 325 ECU, but it would be coded to support the manifold so a 330 at heart, but with a 325 VIN tag |

That's awesome... exactly what I wanted to hear.
Marcello, one of the first ones to step up and try the swap with the Powerchips tune is experiencing a throttle lag issue. Any idea what the might be about? |
