Not shifting when WOT

2008 328xi auto with 100k. When car is floored it just hovers around 4k rpms and won't accelerate or shift! Just did plugs oil change and valve cover. Any direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1. Put key in the ignition
2. Click on the Start button without having your foot on the accelerator. At this point the lights on the dash will all light up.
3. Push the accelerator to the floor and hold it for about 30 seconds. For me at about 20 seconds I heard a very faint sound. This is the reset sound. Don't worry if you don't hear it. Just keep your foot on the pedal for about 30 seconds.

Just tried this with no success. I did not hear any noise though. I could of course try again. My next thought was try to get any codes read and follow those. If no codes are present I was thinking of changing tranny fluid....

Have you tried cleaning the Vanos Solenoids? I had a similar issue with my 328xi at 90k. I removed the solenoids cleaned with brake fluid and whaalah! Power restored.

Good luck. I hope your issue is just as simple.

I meant starter fluid not brake. Lol
